John Woolfolk

John Woolfolk is an experienced journalist with a career spanning several decades. Currently serving as the Assistant City Editor at San Jose Mercury News since February 1995, John supervises a team of reporters and a columnist focused on local government while also managing the editing of both print and online content, including a political blog. Previous roles include reporting on various topics at the San Francisco Chronicle from April 1993 to November 1994 and covering Palo Alto and San Mateo County at the Peninsula Times Tribune between 1990 and 1993. John holds two Bachelor of Arts degrees in English, one from the University of California, Berkeley (1989-1991) and another from UC Santa Barbara (1985-1989).
