Lou Alexander has an extensive background in journalism and advertising, with a career spanning several decades. Alexander began as Publisher at the Waynesburg (PA) Democrat Messenger from 1976 to 1979 and served as General Manager/Publisher during that same period. Subsequently, Alexander held the position of Advertising Director at the Ypsilanti (MI) Press from 1979 to 1982 and continued in a similar role at the Yakima Herald-Republic from September 1982 to August 1983. Following these roles, Alexander transitioned to the San Jose Mercury News, serving as Advertising Manager from 1983 until retirement in July 2003. Educationally, Alexander earned a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Indiana University Bloomington between 1967 and 1971 and attended Midwest Broadcasting School in 1965.
