Jill Bourne serves as the City Librarian for the San Jose Public Library since July 2013, directing a library system recognized with prestigious awards such as the Gale/Library Journal Library of the Year Award and the Institute of Museum and Library Services National Medal. Prior to this role, Jill held the position of Deputy City Librarian at the San Francisco Public Library from November 2006 to June 2013, overseeing a diverse library system and leading the implementation of grants for innovative programs. Earlier experience includes various roles at The Seattle Public Library, including Assistant Director of Public Services and Children's Librarian. Jill holds a Master of Library and Information Science degree from the University of Washington, an MA in Literature from Boston College Graduate School, and a BA in English Literature from New York University.
