Sara Zimmerman

Sara Zimmerman is an accomplished educator with extensive experience in special education and general education. Currently serving as a Special Education and Math teacher at San Leandro High School since August 2019, Sara implements culturally responsive practices and develops rigorous, standards-aligned math lessons for students with learning disabilities. Previous roles include Education Specialist at Encinal Junior/Senior High School and Learning Specialist at Envision Education, where Sara co-taught classes and created tailored educational interventions. Additionally, Sara has a background in the performing arts, having worked as a performer, director, and teaching artist. Educational qualifications include an M.F.A. in Dramatic Arts from the University of California and a B.A. from Earlham College.
