Michael Brill TSSP, CSSD, MBA, currently serves as the Deputy Director of Safety and Security at the San Mateo County Transit District, focusing on transit safety operations, security, and maintenance. With extensive experience in managing transit emergencies as an Associate Staff Instructor at the U.S. Department of Transportation's Transportation Safety Institute, Michael has held key positions such as Manager of Emergency Preparedness at BART and Safety & Compliance Officer at Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit, where responsibilities included ensuring compliance with FRA regulations and enhancing safety programs. Michael's earlier roles at VTA encompassed leading the Transit Systems Safety Department and overseeing safety audits and emergency preparedness initiatives. Michael holds a bachelor's degree in Aeronautics/Aviation from Miami University and an MBA in Project Management from Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University.
