Patrick Gilster

Patrick Gilster, AICP, currently serves as the Director of Planning and Fund Management at the San Mateo County Transit District, having previously held the position of Manager of Planning & Programming. With extensive experience in transportation planning, Patrick has worked as a Senior Planner at Toole Design Group, contributing to various master plans and active transportation initiatives. Prior roles include Senior Transportation Planner at Fehr & Peers, where skills in transportation impact studies and safety assessments were developed, and earlier positions involved planning internships and administrative work. Patrick holds a Master of City & Regional Planning and a Master of Science in Engineering with a transportation focus from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, as well as a B.A. in English and a B.S. in Community, Environment, & Planning from the University of Washington.
