Roger T. Bonnecaze

Co-Founder and Technical Adviser at SandBox Semiconductor

Roger T. Bonnecaze is currently the Dean of the Cockrell School of Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin, a position they have held since 2021. Prior to this, they were the Interim Dean of the same school. From 2016 to 2021, they were the Co-Founder and Technical Adviser of SandBox Semiconductor, Inc., a company that accelerates advanced manufacturing process development through the application of physics-based and AI/machine learning-based models. From 2003 to 2021, they were the William and Bettye Nowlin Chair of Engineering, Co-Director of the National Science Foundation Engineering Research Center for Nanomanufacutring Systems for Mobile Computing and Mobile Energy Technologies, and Professor of Chemical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. From 1993 to 2003, they were the T Brockett Hudson Professor and Department Chair of Chemical Engineering, Professor, Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering, and Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. Roger T. also held a Visiting Professor position at the Laboratoire Matière Molle et Chimie, ESPCI, Paris, France from 2003 to 2004. Prior to this, they were a Project Engineer/Project Manager at Hydro Research Science from 1987 to 1993.

Roger T. Bonnecaze's education history consists of four degrees, starting with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University from 1981 to 1985. Roger T. then pursued a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Caltech from 1985 to 1987. From 1988 to 1991, they completed a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Caltech. Lastly, they completed a Postdoc in Applied Maths and Geophysics from the University of Cambridge from 1991 to 1992.
