Sheenam Khuttan

Postdoctoral Researcher at SandboxAQ

Sheenam Khuttan has a comprehensive background in computational chemistry and research. Starting in 2023, they worked as a Computational Chemistry Resident at SandboxAQ. Prior to this, from 2018 to 2022, Sheenam was a Doctoral Student in Computational Chemistry at The Graduate Center, City University of New York, where they conducted research at the Gallicchio lab. Sheenam'swork focused on studying macromolecular interactions using free energy models, specifically in protein-drug, host-guest, and protein-peptide binding.

Before their doctoral studies, Sheenam worked as a Post Graduate Student in Chemistry at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi from 2015 to 2017. Additionally, Sheenam gained practical experience in interdisciplinary applications of chemistry through workshops at the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India in 2014. These workshops involved using spectroscopy, particularly UV spectroscopy, to analyze the amount of adulterant in drugs.

In 2013, Sheenam worked at the Bureau of Indian Standards, where they focused on the use of adulterants and indicators in experimental chemistry. This work included utilizing chemical indicators in criminal cases.

Sheenam's work experience also includes a role as a Web Content Writer at mygola in 2012.

Sheenam Khuttan completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc Honors) in Chemistry at Delhi University from 2011 to 2014. Sheenam then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Chemistry at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi from 2015 to 2017. Continuing their academic journey, they enrolled at The City University of New York in 2018 and is expected to graduate in 2023 with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biochemistry.
