Adriaan van Herk

Adriaan van Herk is a seasoned geologist with extensive experience in mineral exploration and resource management. Currently serving as Principal Geologist at Sandfire since April 2022, van Herk focuses on accelerating copper discovery in operational provinces. Prior roles include Chief Geologist at Prodigy Gold NL, where van Herk managed drilling programs and targeted high-potential discoveries, and Exploration Manager for Barrick Gold Corporation in Tanzania. With a robust background at KGL Resources Ltd as Chief Geologist, van Herk contributed to enhancing resource understanding at the Jervois Base Metal Project. Earlier experience includes leading exploration teams at Robust Resources Limited and Tengri Resources, alongside senior roles at International Base Metals Limited and Fault Analysis Group, showcasing a strong track record in discovery and resource delineation. Adriaan van Herk holds a Doctorandus in Geology from Utrecht University.
