Barbara Hoey

Barbara Hoey, SPHR, SHRM-SCP has a diverse and extensive work experience in HR roles. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Vice President, HR Tech and People Analytics at Sandy Spring Bank since June 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Vice President, HRIS Manager and Vice President, HRIS Manager at the same company. Barbara also has experience working as the Vice President, HRIS Administrator at Sandy Spring Bank from August 2020 to May 2021.

Before joining Sandy Spring Bank, Barbara worked as the Vice President Human Resources at Revere Bank, a community bank, from May 2018 to August 2020. Revere Bank was later acquired by Sandy Spring Bank in September 2019.

Barbara Hoey, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, holds a diverse range of educational experiences. Barbara obtained their MBA in Business Management from the University of Baltimore between 2004 and 2007. Prior to that, they earned their BFA in Arts from Antioch College from 1983 to 1985. Barbara also pursued studies in Photography at the Rochester Institute of Technology from 1982 to 1983. In 1981 to 1982, Barbara attended Eisenhower, although the field of study and degree information for this period is unavailable.

In addition to their academic achievements, Barbara has obtained several certifications. Barbara received the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) Certification from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI in January 2012. Barbara also earned their PHR certification from HRCI in December 1998. Furthermore, they attained the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification from SHRM in January 2015. Barbara is also a Certified People Analytics Specialist, having obtained this certification from the Academy to Innovate HR (AIHR) in March 2023.
