Muyatwa Sitali has had a diverse range of work experiences in the field of water, sanitation, and development. Muyatwa currently serves as a Board Member at the Duke-UNC Rotary Peace Center and an Advisory Board Member at the WASH PARTNERSHIPS AND LEARNING FOR SUSTAINABILITY (WASHPaLS).
In their previous positions, Muyatwa worked as the Head of Country and Partner Engagement at Sanitation and Water for All, where they liaised with partner governments across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Muyatwa also worked as a High-Level Commitments Dialogue Monitoring Consultant at UNICEF and as a Water and Sanitation Specialist at The World Bank.
Muyatwa has also contributed to the sector through their roles as a Senior Consultant at the Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council, a Graduate Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at Duke University, and a Consultant on Aid Effectiveness in the Water and Sanitation Sector in Fragile States at The World Bank.
Prior to these engagements, they worked at Oxfam as a Regional Essential Services Advocacy Coordinator and a Liberia WASH Consortium Advocacy and Communications Manager. In these positions, they supported the development of national campaigns on education, water and sanitation, and health, and contributed to discussions on a global framework for water and sanitation.
Muyatwa began their career as a Programme Coordinator for Debt, Aid, and Trade at the Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflection in Zambia, where they led discussions on public debt management, aid effectiveness, and trade justice, and supported local and community campaigns.
Through their extensive work experience, Muyatwa Sitali has made significant contributions to promoting water, sanitation, and sustainable development globally.
Muyatwa Sitali's education history is as follows:
From 2001 to 2004, Muyatwa Sitali attended Copperbelt University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry.
From 2012 to 2014, Muyatwa Sitali pursued further education at Duke University, earning a Master of International Development Policy degree in the field of International Development Policy.
During the same period, from 2012 to 2014, they also attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where they obtained a Certificate in International Peace and Conflict Resolution in the field of International Peace and Conflict Resolution.
In terms of additional certifications, Muyatwa Sitali achieved Honored Listee status from Marquis Who's Who in June 2023, and they also obtained certification from Duolingo in April 2017, although the institution for the latter certification is not specified.
