Wander van Breedam

Wander Van Breedam is a Principal Scientist in the Discovery Lead Generation and Molecular Engineering team at Sanofi Belgium since April 2020, having previously held the position of Senior Scientist in the same team. Prior experience includes serving as an Innovation Scientist at VIB-UGent from October 2014 to March 2020, where involvement centered around developing glyco-engineering technologies aimed at establishing a biotech spin-off. Earlier roles include Postdoctoral Researcher in the Callewaert lab focused on lectin-based purification strategies and advancing glyco-engineering research, as well as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Virology lab at Ghent University studying virus pathogenesis and immunology. Wander Van Breedam began academic training at Ghent University, obtaining a degree in cell and gene biotechnology in 2006, culminating in a PhD that examined the entry mechanism of PRRSV in porcine macrophages.
