Lawrence Mthembu

Lawrence Mthembu currently serves as the General Manager in the Office of the CEO at SANRAL since October 2023. Previously, Lawrence held various roles at the Industrial Development Corporation from February 2018 to October 2023, including Manager of Operations Support for the Mining, Metals, Infrastructure, and Energy Division, where responsibilities included overseeing operational matters and providing strategic support. Other roles at the IDC included Dealmaker for Industrial Infrastructure and Senior Business Analyst, focusing on funding transactions and conducting due diligence. Lawrence’s earlier experience includes positions at Sappi and Vanchem Vanadium Products, where management of production activities, risk assessments, and resource optimization were key responsibilities. Lawrence holds a Master's degree in Commerce, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration, and a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering.
