Mark Richards

Mark Richards is an accomplished engineering technical lead at SANS Institute since October 2011, specializing in the development of a web-based Virtual Learning Environment for security training. Prior experience includes serving as CEO and software engineer at Richards Consulting Group LLC, where volunteer work focused on software design and system security for non-profits. Mark's background also features a lengthy tenure as a senior software engineer at the Defense Finance and Accounting Services, leading technical projects and supporting financial systems development. Additionally, Mark gained valuable experience as a computer engineer with the USAF Civilian Service, where database software was developed and software testing was conducted. Mark holds a Master’s degree in Software Engineering and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of West Florida, alongside an Associate's degree in Communication Arts from Okaloosa-Walton Community College.
