Christopher Mahurin is a seasoned law enforcement professional with extensive experience at the Santa Rosa Police Department since July 2006, currently serving as Police Lieutenant. In this role, Mahurin manages multiple patrol teams and specialty assignments while mentoring sergeants and officers to achieve personal career goals aligned with departmental initiatives. Previous positions include Public Information Officer, where expertise in crisis communications, media relations, and community engagement was developed, and Police Sergeant, focusing on productivity, safety, and public trust. As a Police Detective, Mahurin specialized in Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault investigations, particularly related to sex trafficking and online child luring. Earlier in the career, Mahurin served as a Police Officer conducting numerous criminal investigations and organizing community events. Prior to law enforcement, Mahurin was an Assistant Branch Manager at Redwood Credit Union and holds a Master of Arts in Law Enforcement & Public Safety Leadership from the University of San Diego.
