I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. I attended the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia, where I met my husband. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and History from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. I completed a post-baccalaureate teacher credential program at Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia. I started my teaching career at Druid Hills High School in Atlanta, Georgia. My husband and I have lived in California since 2001 and in Sonoma since 2007. I taught at Rio Linda High School in Sacramento and then served as a Curriculum and Instruction Coordinator and a Vice Principal at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Junior High School in Sacramento. I was the Principal of Altimira Middle School, of Creekside High School, and worked as the Coordinator of Student Services in Sonoma Valley Unified School District prior to becoming a member of the SRCS family. As a member of the SRCS Educational Services Division, I have the privilege of supporting McKinney-Vento and Foster Youth as well as assisting students and families with enrollment, attendance, and discipline matters.
