Joao Carlos Silva

Joao Carlos Silva is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in enterprise architecture and IT management. Currently serving as Chief Architect for Santander US since October 2013, Joao has been instrumental in establishing the bank's Enterprise Architecture team and overseeing its expansion to include all Santander entities in the US. Prior to this role, Joao held leadership positions within ISBAN, including Head of Architecture for Santander Bank N.A. and Head of Business/Application Architecture for Santander Portugal, where significant contributions were made to key mergers and system migrations. Joao has also co-founded and led technology firms, including Engiteam and IBT, and has held various roles in IT leadership and research, beginning with a focus on intelligent robotics at UNINOVA. Joao earned a graduation degree in Computer Engineering from Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
