Nobuko Kato

Nobuko Kato currently serves as the Corporate Officer and Chief Communications Officer at Santen, where responsibilities include overseeing global corporate communications since May 2021. Prior to this role, Nobuko held the position of General Manager of Corporate Communications at Sony from November 2019 to April 2021. Nobuko also brought extensive experience from Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd as Vice President and Global Head of External Communications from February 2016 to September 2019, and from Johnson & Johnson as Director of Communications for the Management Operating Committee between March 2011 and January 2016. Earlier positions include various roles at The World Bank, including Senior Partnership Specialist and External Relations Officer, as well as experience in public relations at Fleishman-Hillard Japan and broadcasting at NHK and CBC. Nobuko obtained a Masters of International Affairs in International Media Communications from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs and holds a BA in French Literature from Sophia University.
