With a successful track record of over 26 years in teaching and research with reputed medical institutions in Medical Biochemistry, Dr. Jyoti Batra, is an academician, researcher, and able administrator. She has been a senior resident with Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC), New Delhi, India and completed her post-doctoral fellowship from AIIMS, New Delhi. At present she is Dean Research and Professor, Department of Biochemistry at Santosh Medical College, Ghaziabad. She also serves as Head of Bioethics Unit at Santosh Deemed to be University (UNESCO Chair in Bioethics, Haifa) and a member of International Forum of Teachers of the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics. She is convener as well as a member of multiple Internal & external Academic and Research Committees. She has been invited as a panelist at different forums. Her contribution to research has been recognized internationally and Dr. Jyoti was conferred with prestigious William Harvey Research Award in 2015. Most of her research interests are in the area of neuro-biochemistry and oxidative stress. She is a Regional Coordinator for ICMR under Dr. Padam Singh Research and Development Scheme and conducted a number of workshops on research methodology. Under her leadership, a separate Central Research Unit is being established on the university campus. She has over 45 publications in National and International indexed Journals with high impact factor and the contributory author for Aging – oxidative stress and dietary antioxidants (2nd edition) Arthritis is a disease of aging and changes in Antioxidant status by Elsevier. Professor Batra is a coordinator of the PhD program and under her guidance, 15 research scholars obtained their Ph.D and P.G degrees. she has also guided PROJECTS from the Indian Council of Medical Research and TB Association.
Dr. Jyoti Batra is organizing committee members for various conferences of national and international repute and a member of the NAAC core committee of the university. She has been an external examiner and paper setter at various Medical Colleges pan India.
Under her leadership, a research ecosystem is being developed to encourage and motivate faculty as well as students to actively participate in a research field.
