Al Hilwa

Al Hilwa currently serves as VP and Chief Analyst for AI & Platform Technologies Research at SAP, a role held since February 2017. Prior to this, significant experience was gained as a Research Program Director at IDC from November 2007 to January 2017, where notable contributions were made to software development research and market analysis, leading to recognition as a thought leader in developer research. Al Hilwa's background also includes a position as Senior Strategist at Microsoft from October 2000 to October 2007, focusing on application platform strategies and customer referencing programs. Earlier experience includes serving as Research Director at Gartner, where strategic data management was emphasized, and managing software development for UNIX systems at the NY State MTA. Academic qualifications include a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Lawrence University.
