Laura G. Macías

Laura G. Macías has a diverse work experience in the field of bioinformatics. Laura is currently employed at Saphetor, where they hold the role of Senior Scientific Analyst. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Production Support Bioinformatician and Production Support Bioinformatician at the same company. In addition to their industry experience, Laura has also served as a Master Thesis Supervisor for the Bioinformatics Master program at VIU - Universidad Internacional de Valencia.

Laura gained significant research experience as a Bioinformatics Research Scientist at the Institute of Agrochemistry and Food Technology (IATA-CSIC), where they were involved in various projects related to Systems Biology of Yeasts of Biotechnological Interest. Laura'sresponsibilities primarily included developing pipelines for genomics data analysis and data visualization.

Before their research position, Laura completed a PhD internship at the Biological Research Center and a Master's thesis at the Institute of Agrochemistry and Food Technology (IATA-CSIC). Laura began their professional journey as an intern at Laboratorios Tecnológicos de León S.L.

Laura G. Macías has an extensive education history. Laura obtained a PhD in Biomedicine and Biotechnology from the University of València from 2016 to 2021. Prior to that, they completed a Master's degree in Bioinformatics at the same university from 2014 to 2016. Laura'sundergraduate studies were focused on Biotechnology at Universidad de León, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree from 2010 to 2014.

In addition to their academic achievements, Laura has also pursued various certifications. Laura obtained certifications in Intermediate SQL, Joining Data in SQL, Data Scientist with Python track, Python Programming Track, and Importing and Cleaning Data with R Track from DataCamp. These certifications were obtained between 2018 and 2021, demonstrating their commitment to continuously expanding their skills and knowledge in data science and programming.
