Hugo Tam has a diverse work experience in the actuarial field. Hugo started their career as an Actuarial Intern at AXA Asia Pacific Holdings Ltd., where they gained experience in IFRS and US GAAP valuation. Hugo then moved to AXA ASIA as an Actuarial Analyst, working in Regional Actuarial Solutions. After that, they joined Ernst & Young as a Senior Actuarial Associate in the Asia Pacific region, where they worked on various projects, including setting up a liquidity risk management framework for a Global Systemic Importance Insurer. In 2014, Hugo joined Aviva as a Senior Manager in Global Actuarial Solutions, where they led the development of Aviva's group-wide Solvency II Internal Model. Most recently, they joined SAPIAT as a Lead HPC Developer.
Hugo Tam holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Insurance, Financial and Actuarial Analysis from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. In addition to their degree, they have obtained two certifications: Financial Risk Manager (FRM) from the Global Association of Risk Professionals in 2014, and Fellow (FSA) from the Society of Actuaries in 2012.
