Namal Nawana

Namal Nawana is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in the healthcare and medical device sectors. Currently serving as Chairman and Founder of Sapphiros since July 2021 and Neoenta LLC since November 2017, Namal previously held leadership roles including Director at Hologic, Inc. from January 2018 to March 2024, and Chief Executive Officer at Smith & Nephew from April 2018 to December 2019. Notably, Namal was the President and Chief Executive Officer at Alere Inc. from December 2012 to October 2017, where responsibilities included being a member of the Board of Directors, and also served as Interim Chief Executive Officer and President, as well as Chief Operating Officer. Prior experience includes a role as Worldwide President of DePuy Synthes Spine at Johnson & Johnson from February 2011 to December 2012. Namal's educational background includes a Master of Medical Science degree and a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Adelaide, along with studies at Henley Business School in 1999-2000.
