Janet C. Cantees

Janet C. Cantees has extensive experience in leadership roles within both government and the private sector. Currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer, Chief of Staff, and Chief Deputy Clerk at the Sarasota Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller since 1998, Janet's responsibilities align with those of a COO in the private sector. Janet has also contributed to the governance of organizations as a member of the Board of Directors at Achieva Credit Union since 2009 and previously served on the Board of Directors for Sarasota Coastal Credit Union from 2004 to 2009. Earlier in Janet's career, leadership positions included Director of Human Resources at Williamson Memorial Hospital (1992-1997) and Director of Personnel Services at A.T. Massey Coal (1986-1992). Janet's educational background includes a Master of Business Administration from Morehead State University, a Bachelor of Business Administration from Pikeville College, and an Associate of Science in Accounting from Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College.
