Dr. Meg Schaeffer

Dr. Meg Schaeffer, EdD, MPH, MPA, currently serves as the National Public Health Advisor and Epidemiologist at SAS since December 2020, while also operating as the Owner/CEO of Aperio Statistical Consulting since April 2020. Dr. Schaeffer has a robust background in quality management and public health, having previously held the position of Director of Quality Data Strategy & Acquisition at AmeriHealth Caritas from 2015 to December 2020. Additional roles include Vice President of Quality and Performance Improvement at Meridian Health Plan and various academic positions as an adjunct professor at Drake University and Des Moines University. Dr. Schaeffer has extensive experience in epidemiology, including significant involvement in managing public health surveillance and response during notable outbreaks. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Education from Drake University and multiple master's degrees in public health and administration from the University of Iowa and Drake University.
