Alen Smajevic has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Alen has held various roles in different organizations, showcasing their expertise in governance, IT vendor management, vendor relationship management, strategic purchasing, strategic sourcing, and procurement. Alen has also demonstrated their skills in managing teams and establishing systems for promoting Aboriginal business procurement. Alen has worked for companies such as Friends of the Royal Saskatchewan Museum, Saskatchewan Government Insurance, Farm Credit Canada, Brandt Group of Companies, SaskPower, SMA Construction, SaskWater, and various property management firms.

Alen Smajevic holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Regina, which they completed from 2004 to 2010. Alen also obtained a Diploma in Economics during the same period from the University of Regina. In 2015 to 2017, they pursued a SMT Diploma in Logistics, Materials, and Supply Chain Management from the Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA). Currently, they are enrolled in an Executive Leadership program at Queen's University, specializing in Business Administration and Management.
