Aaron Cruz is currently working as an Instructor at the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies for the Mental Health & Wellness Program. Previously, Aaron has held roles such as a Registered Social Worker at AFLCSERVICES, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Evolve Counselling & Wellness, and a Jordan's Principle Service Coordinator at Whitecap Dakota First Nation. Aaron has a background in social work and sociology, obtaining Bachelor's degrees from the University of Regina and the University of Saskatchewan.

The Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT) is an Indigenous post-secondary institution, governed by First Nations leaders. With a province-wide footprint of campuses, trade and career centres, mobile training units, and many community-based program sites, SIIT programs are available all across Saskatchewan. SIIT provides applied skills training for careers in a variety of areas. Programs include both traditional and hands-on learning, with close ties to related industry stakeholders to ensure course content is strong and relevant.
