Maarten Coetsee

Maarten Coetsee is a seasoned professional with 35 years of experience in the energy and chemicals sectors, currently serving as the VP of Energy Solutions at Sasol since July 2024. Beginning a tenure at Sasol in 1999, Maarten has held various leadership roles, including VP of Business Enablement and Program Manager for Sasol ecoFT, focusing on sustainability and program management initiatives. Previous experiences include serving as the Chief Financial Officer for Zaffra and VP of Strategic Business Services at Sasol Exploration & Production International, among other positions. Maarten possesses a Master’s in Financial Analysis and Management and is a chartered accountant, demonstrating expertise in finance, governance, and strategic business management across multiple disciplines in the energy industry.
