Mike Nel

Vice President, Mergers & Acquisitions at Sasol

Mike Nel has a strong background in the energy industry, with experience in mergers and acquisitions, business development, and commercial negotiations. Mike has held various executive positions at Sasol and has been responsible for leading and guiding strategic initiatives. Nel has successfully developed and delivered business cases for multi-billion-dollar projects and has negotiated joint ventures and acquisitions. Prior to their work at Sasol, they worked as an associate at Van Wyk de Vries Attorneys.

Mike Nel's education history includes the following:

- In 1988 to 1991, they attended the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika, where they obtained a degree in B.Proc (Law).

- From 1992 to 1993, they continued their education at the same university and earned an LLB (Law) degree.

- In 1994 to 1995, they attended the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika again and completed a Master of Laws (LLM) in Commercial Law.

- In 1996, they pursued further studies and obtained a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Johannesburg.

- In 2004, they became a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales after studying at the Law Society of England & Wales.

- In 2007, they completed the Sasol Senior Executive Development Programme at the GIBS Business School (Gordon Institute of Business Science).

- In 2008, they attended the Harvard Business School and completed a program on Building New Ventures.

- In 2009, they studied Corporate Finance at the London Business School and earned a CFEP, M&A degree.

- Mike Nel also became an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa after studying International Law and Legal Studies at the Law Society of South Africa in 1996.
