Christian Sturt has worked in the engineering field since 1996. Christian began their career as a Graduate Engineer at Racal Communication Systems Ltd (Racal Radio -> Racal Defence -> Thales Defence). In this role, they worked on RF hardware before transferring to the control software department after graduation. Christian also spent time at Racal Research in the DSP team working on the implementation of a Tetra Radio demodulator. In 2004, they moved on to IPV Limited as a DSP Engineer. In 2005, they joined Qualcomm UK Ltd as a Staff Engineer, where they were a member of the GERAN DSP team responsible for the design, development, integration and testing of GSM/GPRS/EDGE physical layer firmware. In 2015, they moved to Qualcomm as a Senior Staff Engineer - Modem Firmware, where they were a member of the Modem Firmware team responsible for the design, development, integration and testing of 5G/4G physical layer firmware and HW drivers. Christian's main areas of focus were in control, scheduling and hardware device drivers. In 2019, they joined SatixFy as a Senior DSP Engineer.
Christian Sturt completed a PhD in Speech Coding from the Centre for Communication Systems Research at The University of Surrey between 2000 and 2004. Prior to this, they earned a Master of Engineering in Electronic Engineering from the University of Surrey between 1996 and 2004.
