Steve Nilhas, Ph.D.

Steven Nilhas currently serves as the Interim Superintendent of Schools for SAU 4 Newfound Area School District, a position held since July 2023. Prior to this, Steven was the Director of Curriculum and Instruction at SAU 36 White Mountains Regional School District from November 2019 to July 2023, following a tenure as the Superintendent of Schools at SAU 84 Littleton School District from 2016 to November 2019. Steven's international experience includes serving as Principal at Colegio Jorge Washington in Cartagena, Colombia, and at the American School of Asuncion in Paraguay. Earlier career roles include Principal at Lawrence High School in Kansas and Superintendent of Schools for USD 281 Hill City, where impactful leadership was demonstrated through various initiatives aimed at enhancing educational quality and student performance. Academically, Steven holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership and Special Education from the University of Kansas and a Master's degree from Fort Hays State University.
