Daniel Carter has over 25 years of experience in the finance industry. Daniel began their career in 1994 as an Executive at Heller Financial. In 1995, they moved to Citigroup / Salomon Smith Barney as a Vice President Investment Banking. In 2003, they became a Principal, Venture Capital Investor at Conduit Ventures. In 2011, they joined Launch.org as a Council Member. Daniel also became President of the Columbia Business School Alumni Club of Houston in 2015. From 2011 to 2017, they were the President Emeritus and Chairman of the Alumni Council Energy Club of the London Business School. In 2017, they took on the role of Chair of the Investment & Finance Initiative for the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Gulf Coast Section. In 2013, they joined Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures as a Senior Investment Director. In 2021, they joined Prosperity7 Ventures as a Senior Investment Director and led the first five deals including SiFive, Taulia (sold to SAP), SignalWire, Callsign, and Wasabi. Daniel also co-led Rain Neuromorphics, a leading eCommerce business (not disclosed), a leading fintech business (not disclosed), a leading medtech business (not disclosed), and a leading cybersecurity business (not disclosed). Additionally, they have served on the Board of Directors of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory since 2013.
Daniel Carter has a diverse educational background. Daniel obtained a B.S.F.S. in International Economics & Politics from Georgetown University and then went on to complete an MBA from Columbia Business School, Columbia University, and London Business School between 2005 and 2006. In 2011, they earned a Sustainable Energy Conversion and Storage Certificate from Stanford University. Daniel also participated in an exchange program at the University of Vienna. In 2017, they completed the Emerging CFO Executive Program at Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
