Howard Meyers

Howard Meyers has extensive work experience in project management and agile methodologies. Howard started their career as a Software Engineer at Premier Systems, Inc. in 1984. Howard then worked as a Senior Consultant at CTG from 1987 to 1996.

In 1996, Howard joined SHARED MEDICAL SYSTEMS as a System Analyst and Project Manager. During their tenure, they played a key role in delivering training, consulting, and support for Agile methods and traditional Project Management tools. Howard also developed and administered a corporate Project Management Office.

In 2000, Howard joined Siemens Healthineers as a Project Manager. Howard served as a ScrumMaster and Agile Coach for local and global product development teams, implementing leading Kanban and Scrum agile processes. Howard also worked as an Agile Coach and Consultant, delivering process definition, delivery, metrics, and reporting for Agile Scrum and Kanban processes for clinical healthcare products.

Howard then became a Lead ScrumMaster at Cerner Corporation in 2015. Howard continued their role as an Agile Coach and ScrumMaster, performing Release Train Engineer duties and coaching teams for product development and support. Howard implemented SAFe ceremonies and practices as an RTE for an Agile Release Train.

In 2022, Howard joined Oracle as a Lead Scrum Master after the company acquired Cerner. Howard acted as a Scrum Master and SAFe Release Train Engineer for Architecture and platform product areas for healthcare financial products. Howard also fulfilled the role of Agile Coach and Scrum Master for local and global product development teams.

Most recently, Howard has been employed at Savana, Inc. as a Scrum Master since 2023.

Outside of their corporate career, Howard also worked as an Adjunct Instructor at Penn State Berks Continuing Education Department from 2013 to 2021.

Howard Meyers has a diverse education history. Howard first attended Drexel University from 1978 to 1983, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Commerce and Engineering.

Later, in 1992, Howard pursued further education at Penn State University, where they enrolled in the Master of Engineering (MEng) program in Computer Software Engineering. Howard successfully completed this program in 1995.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Howard also holds several certifications. In 2006, they became a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) through the Scrum Alliance. In 2017, they obtained the ICAgile Certified Professional - Agile Team Facilitation certification from ICAgile. Furthermore, in 2020, Howard acquired the PMP (Project Management Professional) certification from the Project Management Institute.

Howard continues to enhance their expertise, as in 2022, they received the Certified SAFe® 5 Release Train Engineer certification from Scaled Agile, Inc. Finally, in 2023, they achieved the Certified SAFe® 6 Release Train Engineer certification, once again from Scaled Agile, Inc.
