As part of ambitious growth plans, we currently have an opportunity for an experienced research professional to join our team. Savanta has offices in NYC and Toronto with virtual options as well, so this role would suit a candidate working East Coast hours.

The Role

  

As a Research Manager, you’ll be the lynchpin of your client accounts, project-managing, delegating and dealing with day-to-day account activity while ensuring clients are kept informed and that any project issues are resolved.

This is a hands-on role in the delivery of high-quality research projects, applying your knowledge, expertise and analytical skills to support clients in better decision-making. Working across multiple projects simultaneously while reporting to the Project Leads, your core day-to-day responsibilities will involve:

  • Acting as the key client contact while managing the full project life cycle;

  • Executing high-quality research programs that enable clients to fully meet their objectives;

  • Performing data analysis to create a compelling story and draw conclusions to support insight creation and recommendations;

  • Preparing and presenting engaging presentations that help ensure our outcomes drive change;

  • Overseeing project tasks carried out by the wider support team – from scripting to fieldwork and supplier management, ensuring project timings and budgets are met;

  • Building new business skills - growing client accounts through excellent execution, supporting proposals, generating and leading initiatives to strengthen our relationship with our clients.

About You

At Savanta, Research Managers have strong working competency of the research lifecycle and a point of view about different research and insight techniques. They are fast and efficient workers, understand how to partner with more senior colleagues, require limited supervision, and increasingly demonstrate an ability to connect individual data points to overall strategic meaning and see the bigger picture.  The ideal candidate should demonstrate:

  • Experience in market research or a comparable industry with highly transferable skills; including managing research studies end to end with an understanding of data analysis for insights generation and client relationship building experience;

  • 3-5 years of market research background;

  • Fluency and comfort working with quantitative data;

  • Experience or interest in moderating qualitative IDIs, qualboards, etc. is ideal;

  • A track record of analyzing data to extract pertinent insights and actionable recommendations;

  • Experience of building successful working relationships with clients in the marketing research industry;

  • Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills;

  • Strong work ethic with a self-motivated mindset and drive to reach goals;

  • Awareness of potential challenges in projects and proactively tackle them;

  • Ability to effectively manage junior colleagues on projects, providing feedback, support and coaching as appropriate;

  • Detail-oriented, eager to learn and develop and challenge the status quo;

  • Self-motivation, flexibility and an independent mind but also able to work in a team;

  • Juggling multiple projects simultaneously and within tight timeframes;

  • Delegate and manage resources effectively;

  • Learning and demonstrating new knowledge (e.g. working with clients in new industries).
