Emily Durkin

Emily Durkin is a seasoned professional in humanitarian education with extensive experience working in complex emergencies and conflict-affected regions. Currently serving as a Senior Humanitarian Education Advisor at Save the Children International since April 2024, Emily previously held roles such as Project Director for the Somalia Bar ama Baro project at Creative Associates International and Senior Education in Emergencies Advisor at Save the Children Norway. Emily's diverse expertise includes deployments in various countries, providing technical support and capacity building in education programs for displaced populations. With a robust educational background, holding an MA in International Affairs focused on Conflict and Security Studies from The New School and a BA in Anthropology and Africana Studies from New York University, Emily has contributed significantly to advancing education in crises through strategic program management and development.
