Cynthia Summers has extensive work experience in the publishing industry, specializing in educational materials. Cynthia started their career at The Writer's Voice of the West Side Y, where they quickly rose to the position of Director. In this role, they managed daily operations, long-term planning, and successfully secured funding from major grant-making institutions.

Later, Cynthia joined Scholastic as an Editor for Literary Cavalcade, a monthly literary magazine for high school students and teachers. Cynthia redefined the magazine's vision, oversaw content selection, developed new features, and commissioned works from contemporary writers.

After their time at Scholastic, Cynthia joined Pearson K12 Learning as an Executive Editor/Manager. In this role, they contributed to the development of educational materials, focusing on literacy, literature, and media literacy. Cynthia held various responsibilities, including planning, prototyping, development, budgeting, and management.

Currently, Cynthia is serving as an Executive Editor/Manager at Savvas Learning Company. Cynthia continues to develop instructional materials, both print and digital, for both students and teachers. Their skills encompass all aspects of the editorial process, and they are experienced in working with a variety of formats.

Throughout their career, Cynthia Summers has consistently demonstrated their expertise in educational publishing and their ability to lead and manage editorial projects.

Cynthia Summers has a diverse educational background focused on literature and the arts. Cynthia obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Creative Writing, as well as Dance, from Oberlin College. Cynthia later pursued a Master of Fine Arts degree in Poetry from Columbia University. To further enhance their expertise in poetry, they earned a Master of Arts degree in English and Poetry from the University of New Hampshire. Additionally, Cynthia Summers obtained a certification in UX Foundations: Accessibility from LinkedIn in November 2021.
