Jessica Maldonado has a diverse range of work experience. Jessica started their career in 2006 at the Waco Tribune-Herald, where they worked as an Ad Assistant and later as an Obituary & Announcement Clerk. Jessica then transitioned to Humana Military in 2008, working as a Data Entry Specialist until 2010. In 2011, Jessica worked as a Substitute Teacher at Lackland Elementary School before becoming a Special Education Teacher at Southside ISD in 2012. Jessica continued their teaching career at Judson ISD from 2013 to 2016. From 2016 to 2021, Jessica worked for Pearson and Savvas Learning Co (formerly Pearson K12 Learning) as an ELL/Intervention Curriculum Specialist and Professional Learning Content Developer respectively, focusing on intervention and supplemental materials.

Jessica Maldonado received their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Professional Writing from Baylor University, where they attended from 2003 to 2005. Later, they pursued their Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Special Education at The University of Texas at San Antonio, completing their studies from 2010 to 2012.
