Kathilynn Kalina has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries, including education and mental health. Kathilynn began their career in 1987 as a Senior Sales Associate at Waldenbooks/Waldenkids, where they worked until 1994. From 1994 to 1995, they worked as a Sales Associate at Fetch's Mining and Merchantile, Hold Your Horses, and The Old Arcade.
In 1996, Kalina transitioned into the field of mental health as a Mental Health Professional at Allendale Association, where they conducted counseling sessions and created treatment plans for patients. Kathilynn worked in this role until 1998.

Kathilynn led the development of customized interactive science programs, supervised the creation of online content and digital assets, and managed external vendors. Kalina worked at Pearson North America until 2016.
From 2016 to 2018, Kalina worked at McGraw-Hill as a Lead (Editorial Manager) for Academic Design in K-5 STEM. In this role, they provided editorial management for STEM content development.
In 2019, Kalina returned to Pearson K-12 Learning (now Savvas Learning Co) as a Senior Editor for PK-12 Science. Kathilynn continues to work in this role.
Kathilynn Kalina's education history begins with their enrollment at Barat College of DePaul University from 1991 to 1996. During their time there, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology and History.
In 2003, they furthered their education at the Chicago Botanic Garden, where they completed the Naturalist Certificate Program.
From 2002 to 2004, Kathilynn Kalina attended Trinity International University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology and Secondary Education.
