Mike Condon

Mike Condon has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Mike started their career as a Sportswriter/Desk editor at the Council Bluffs Daily Nonpareil in 1985. There, they developed and implemented coverage plans for sports in Southwest Iowa, wrote and edited articles, and designed pages. After working there for 15 years, they joined the Gazette Communications as a Sports Product Editor, where they focused on writing, editing, and copy editing stories for various platforms.

In 2000, Mike transitioned to the YMCA of Cedar Rapids, where they worked as a Customer Service Rep. Their responsibilities included assisting members with program and membership sign-ups, explaining the membership process to prospective members, and providing guidance in the fitness center.

The following year, they joined the Transamerica Life Insurance Company as part of the Customer Care Group in a call center role. Here, they developed customer relationships by providing accurate policy information and responded to customer inquiries using various computer systems and programs.

In 2012, Mike joined Rockwell Collins as a Senior Customer Account Coordinator. Mike provided customer service for Rockwell customers worldwide, prepared quotes, executed exchanges on airplane parts, and handled various tasks.

In 2014, Mike began their tenure at Savvas Learning Company as a Proposal Writer. Mike worked as part of a nationwide sales proposal team for educational products and services, collaborating with the sales team to provide tailored proposal solutions for school districts. Mike also accumulated information, wrote, and edited multiple documents for submission.

The same year, they also worked at Pearson North America as a Proposal Writer until 2019, focusing on proposal development and writing for educational products and services.

Throughout their career, Mike has also been involved in the field of sports, working as a Writer and Website administrator at Metro Sports Report from 2012 to 2021, where they were responsible for website administration and content creation.

Mike Condon attended Assumption High School from 1976 to 1980, where they obtained their Diploma. Following that, they pursued higher education at the University of Iowa from 1980 to 1983, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Mass Communication.
