Erika Benson

Erika Benson is a seasoned professional in the fields of land, real estate, and energy law, currently serving as Senior Director at SB Energy since December 2024. Prior to this role, Erika held various senior positions, including Senior Director and Legal Counsel at Diode Ventures from April 2021 to December 2024 and as a Strategic Business Consultant at Benson International Group from September 2014 to April 2021. Erika's expertise includes negotiating Power Purchase Agreements, advising on renewable energy projects, and providing regulatory advice to developers and investors. With prior experience as General Counsel at Core Solar LLC and as a Shareholder at Greenberg Traurig, LLP, Erika has also worked in government affairs and international trade compliance at Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP. Erika's career includes significant tenure at the U.S. Department of Energy as a Senior Advisor, as well as experience in energy regulatory litigation and international trade law. Educational credentials include a JD from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, and a BA in Political Science from Denison University.
