Holden Velasco

Holden Velasco is a skilled journalist and writer with extensive experience in sports media. Currently serving as a Contributing Writer for SB Nation’s Brooklyn Nets site, NetsDaily, Holden manages the “Fantasy Check-in” column. Previously, Holden held the position of Editor-in-Chief at The Knight News, overseeing a team of over 50 contributors. Other roles include Sports Editor, Webmaster, and Staff Writer at The Knight News, alongside internships at SLAM and Richner Communications, Inc., where Holden focused on basketball coverage and community journalism, respectively. Additional experience includes positions at Hardwood and Hollywood, SemiPro Media, and Nerd Fantasy Sports, emphasizing content creation and management. Holden is pursuing a Master’s degree in Arts and Culture Reporting at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY, building on a Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies from Queens College.
