Maura McGurk

Maura McGurk is an accomplished sports writer at Vox Media, covering Boston Red Sox baseball since April 2023. In addition, Maura serves as a web designer at Bellevue College and is the editor at McGurk Creative Services, where expertise in editing and web design is utilized. Since 2000, Maura has been creating abstract paintings that blend color, texture, and storytelling. Previous roles include technical team member for The Immigration Project and volunteer digital designer for Catchafire. As a lead sign artist at Trader Joe's, successful campaigns led to notable sales increases. Maura has also coordinated community programs at the Tacoma Art Museum and taught art at various institutions. Academic achievements include an MFA in Painting from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, a BFA from the University of Connecticut, and a BA in Spanish and Portuguese from the University of California, Berkeley.
