Stig Bell

Director, People and Culture at SBS

Stig Bell is the Director of People & Culture and former Head of Talent & Employee Experience at SBS.

Stig started out his career as a professional singer in the world of opera and musical theatre before making the move into the corporate world. He started his HR career as a Learning & Development specialist before branching into the generalist Human Resource & Talent Management space. After almost seven years as a HR Manager at Australia’s largest media organisation, News Corporation, he joined Japanese international banking giant The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ leading the bank’s talent management strategy across Australia and New Zealand. With 17 years’ experience as a HR professional, Stig has established himself as an innovative, creative and strategic HR leader with a strong focus on leadership, talent management, diversity & inclusion, and employee experience.

Stig holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management (with distinction) from the University of Western Sydney Graduate School of Management. In 2018 he was named the HR Executive of the Year by CEO Magazine and the SBS HR team was recognised as one of Australia’s most Innovative HR teams by HRD Magazine in 2018 & 2019. Stig joined SBS in 2013 and he is a passionate advocate for the SBS purpose to explore and celebrate diversity.
