Quek Chin Hock

Head, Customer Experience & Operations, Downtown Line at SBS Transit

Mr. Quek Chin Hock was appointed Head of Customer Experience & Operations of the Downtown Line in January 2022. He is a pioneer member of the North-East Line (NEL) beginning with a student attachment with a company that was involved in the construction of Little India and Farrer Park Stations. Upon graduation, he joined SBS Transit and was part of the set-up team that was responsible for the commencement of service of the NEL and the Sengkang Punggol LRT network in 2003. Thereafter, he was part of the Permanent Way team that maintained the tracks of the NEL, which was the world’s first fully automated underground heavy rail system.

In 2012, he headed the Infrastructure and Permanent Way department of the Downtown Line in preparation for the commencement of service before assuming responsibilities as Head of the Permanent Way and Civil Structure Department in 2017.

An engineer by training, Chin Hock holds a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore. He is also a Chartered Engineer accredited by the Institution of Engineers, Singapore.
