Wardel Simmons

Wardel "Patrick" Simmons is an experienced human resources professional with a diverse background in employee relations and organizational management. Currently serving as an Employee Relations Consultant at the SC Department of Health and Human Services since August 2022, Wardel has previously held several key positions, including Human Resources Coordinator for Employee Relations and Human Resources Manager II at the same department. Prior experience includes roles as Branch Chief of Classification and Compensation/Employee Records at the South Carolina Department of Corrections, Human Resources Manager I at both the SC Department of Health & Environmental Control and the South Carolina Department of Corrections, as well as an HR Specialist at the SC Department of Public Safety. Additional experience includes serving as an HR Assistant with the United States Army Human Resources Command and a Senior Human Resources Manager in the US Army for over 20 years, providing a comprehensive foundation in human resources practices and employee management.
