Ray Smego

Ray Smego joined Scalar in 2016 and has experience with complex financial instrument valuations for compliance with ASC 815, deferred compensation valuations for compliance with IRC 409A, gift and estate tax planning, portfolio valuations for compliance with ASC 820, fairness opinions, and valuation consulting for raising venture capital and private equity. Prior to joining Scalar, Ray was a Portfolio Manager at an investment advisory firm where he was responsible for the day-to-day trading and management of client portfolios. Ray also previously worked at First Southwest Company, Jackson National Life Insurance Company, and Oppenheimer Funds. Ray graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Arts and is also a Certified Financial Planner. He is also a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and a member of the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts.
