Bernd Kuntscher

Bernd Kuntscher has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on sales, marketing, and management. Bernd started their career at AstraZeneca, where they worked as a Sales Representative and Product Manager for allergy, gastroenterology, and gynecology products. During their time at AstraZeneca, they were involved in several product launches and gained valuable experience in marketing and selling pharmaceutical products.

Bernd then joined Q-Med, where they held various roles such as Product Manager, Marketing Manager, and General Manager for the Nordic Countries. In these positions, they were responsible for marketing and sales of products in the fields of uro-gynecology, esthetics, and orthopedics. Bernd played a key role in building up the European Uro-Gynecology Team and finding and developing distributors worldwide.

After Q-Med, Kuntscher worked as a Consultant at Research Int. Navigare, a company specializing in market research and strategic consulting for the pharmaceutical and medical device industry in the Nordic countries.

Bernd then joined Schwarz Pharma AB as the General Manager for Sweden. In this role, they were responsible for the start-up of Schwarz in Sweden and prepared for the launch of Neupro, a treatment for Parkinson's disease. However, due to the merger of Schwarz with UCB, they left the company.

Kuntscher then moved on to Orphan Europe Nordic AB, a subsidiary of Recordati Group, where they served as the General Manager for the Nordics. Bernd held this position for 11 years before transitioning to their role as the General Manager for Nordics and Baltics, Rare Diseases at Recordati AB. In this role, they oversaw operations and strategic initiatives for rare disease products in the region.

Currently, Kuntscher is the Co-owner and Member of the Investment Committee at Scale Up Life Science Invest, where they contribute their expertise and knowledge to support the growth of life science companies.

Bernd Kuntscher began their education at Tessinskolan; however, the specific years of their attendance and any degrees or fields of study achieved remain unknown. From 1982 to 1987, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Economics at Stockholm School of Economics.
