Vijay Karunamurthy

Vijay Karunamurthy is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in artificial intelligence and engineering. Currently serving as the Field Chief Technology Officer and Head of Engineering at Scale AI since March 2022, Vijay drives advancements in Generative AI applications across various industries. As a Sequoia Capital Scout since 2022, Vijay contributes to the venture capital landscape. Previously, Vijay held key roles at major organizations including Apple as Director of Engineering, focusing on machine learning and software for media products, and co-founded several startups such as Nom Labs, Inc. and AVOS Systems Inc. Vijay's career began at YouTube, where as Engineering Manager, Vijay led teams in machine learning and growth initiatives. With a strong academic background including an MS in Computer Science from Stanford University and an MBA from UC Berkeley, Vijay also has degrees in Biochemistry and Mathematics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
