Kristina Gustafson has extensive experience in the healthcare industry. Kristina currently holds the position of Senior Director, Strategy and Transformation at SCAN since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at CareMore Health, where they held various roles including Senior Director, Clinical Business Strategy and Operations / Chief of Staff to Chief Medical Officer, Director, Operational Excellence Team, and Business Change Director, West Region from 2018 to 2022.
Before joining CareMore Health, Kristina worked at Elevance Health as a Senior Consultant, focusing on care delivery transformation and population health. Kristina led care delivery redesigns and collaborated with value-based contracted providers to optimize practices and clinical processes, improve quality, and reduce costs for Anthem, Inc. Kristina achieved significant savings within the value-based program and received LEAN Six Sigma Yellow Belt training during their tenure at Elevance Health.
Earlier in their career, Kristina worked as a Management Consultant at Huron from 2011 to 2016, where they specialized in healthcare. Kristina also served as a Product Manager at Thrive Research Inc, leading the research and development team for the digital health start-up. Additionally, they worked at Sutter Health as part of the Alta Bates Medical Group, conducting primary research on quality measurements and disease management initiatives for private practice physicians and hospitalists.
Kristina's early experience includes working as a Clinic Coordinator at Venice Family Clinic, part of UCLA Health, where they managed clinic operations and facilitated patient care from 2006 to 2008. Throughout their career, Kristina has demonstrated strong leadership skills, a focus on strategy and transformation, and a commitment to improving healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.
Kristina Gustafson holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from The Johns Hopkins University. Kristina also earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from UCLA. In addition, they are certified in Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Training through Anthem, obtained in 2016.
