Director, Service Segmentation Strategy at SCAN Health Plan

Allen Y. Suh has a diverse work experience history. Starting in 2009 as an intern at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, they conducted analysis and evaluation of various healthcare programs. Allen Y. continued their work in the healthcare field as a graduate student researcher at UCLA, where they analyzed data sets related to health department structure and financing.

After completing their education, Allen joined the Health Care Executives of Southern California as the Early Careerists Chair, where they organized events and explored the feasibility of implementing an online mentoring program. Allen Y. then joined the Department of Veterans Affairs Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System as a Health System Specialist, focusing on outreach and strategy development for educating Veterans about VHA benefits and expanding telehealth services.

Allen then transitioned to L.A. Care Health Plan, where they held roles as a Strategic Planning Specialist and Product Manager. In these roles, they managed staff resourcing, implemented risk adjustment programs, and led projects to enhance member engagement and self-service options.

Following their time at L.A. Care Health Plan, Allen worked at Robert Lee Ahn for Congress, where they were responsible for volunteer management, voter registration, and door-to-door canvassing.

Allen then joined Health Net as a Senior Product Performance Analyst, where they managed vendor implementations, analyzed claims data, and implemented new services for members.

Currently, Allen is working at SCAN as the Director of Service Segmentation Strategy, where they lead initiatives related to service innovation and strategic implementation. Their responsibilities include supporting enterprise strategic planning, improving agent experience and member service quality, conducting market research, and developing and managing programs and roadmaps.

Throughout their career, Allen has demonstrated a strong commitment to the healthcare industry and has gained experience in various areas including strategic planning, program management, market research, and data analysis.

Allen Y. Suh has a diverse education history. In 2006, they obtained a B.A. degree in Public Health Policy from UC Irvine. Allen Y. then pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree with a focus on Management at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health from 2008 to 2010. Subsequently, in 2016, they obtained a Certificate in Product Management from General Assembly. Allen also holds a Diploma in High School/Secondary Diplomas and Certificates from Lynbrook High School, which they completed between 1999 and 2003. Allen Y. is additionally certified in Product Management from General Assembly and holds a Certified in Public Health (CPH) designation from the National Board of Public Health Examiners, obtained in 2016 and 2011 respectively.
